FLOW, Thereafter is a project of “misinterpretation performances” that uses contemporary art as its medium. It takes an experimental approach that breaks down the boundary between art and the public, encouraging audiences to interpret and engage with the work rather than relying on the artist’s intent.
The second series, Society, was presented on the vertical media screens in Times Square, New York. Eight characters reinterpret eight artworks in their own unique ways, revealing different aspects of contemporary society.
Their humorous, body-based performances invite viewers to pause amid the noise of the city and reflect on the relationship between individuals and society.
d’strict will continue to explore new forms of “misinterpretation performances” that blur the line between art and the public.
