CBRE Arranges 52,000 Sq. Ft. Lease for Its Second North American Branch
In a transaction arranged by CBRE, ARTE MUSEUM has committed to a 51,979 sq. ft. space to house its immersive art exhibition at Chelsea Piers on the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan. ARTE MUSEUM is an immersive media art exhibition space presented by d'strict, acclaimed for creating the public media art 'WAVE' at COEX in Korea. Exhibits at the ARTE MUSEUM center around the theme ‘ETERNAL NATURE,’ reinterpreting various elements and spaces in nature as immersive media art. The grade-level space at Chelsea Piers is uniquely configured to allow for installation of several digital artworks within the ARTE MUSEUM. Chelsea Piers is a highly visible and active West Side/Hudson River Park location offering easy access to all areas of Manhattan and served by multiple mass transit resources.
The CBRE team of Anthony Dattoma, Neil King, Anthony Jasenski and Paul Amrich represented ownership, Chelsea Piers LLC, in the lease negotiations; CBRE’s Joel Stephen and Preston Cannon represented ARTE MUSEUM.
“We are seeing a significant surge in demand for real estate that supports large experiential and hospitality-driven venues. Covid-19 blurred the lines between work and leisure, accelerating how we think about real estate and the importance of experience across all sectors. Event venues, studios, fitness, and immersive experiences are surging as a result,” said Mr. Dattoma. “We were fortunate to have advised Chelsea Piers on this unique, one-of-a-kind venue. The iconic, self-contained Chelsea Piers studio space is ideal for ARTE MUSEUM’s first foray into New York City.”
“We are very excited to have ARTE MUSEUM open at Chelsea Piers,” said David Tewksbury of Chelsea Piers. “The quality, scope, and breadth of their digital art exhibitions will mesh perfectly with the existing West Chelsea art vibe.”
“ARTE MUSEUM has already attracted eight million visitors in eight locations around the globe with its unique multisensory experience blending reality and fantasy,” said Sean Lee, CEO of d’strict. “Following our successful launch of ARTE MUSEUM LAS VEGAS last year, we are proud and excited to introduce ARTE MUSEUM NEW YORK to the world’s most iconic cultural landscape, enriching its diverse tapestry of art, culture, and commerce with our innovative offerings.”
